HOW IT STARTED
It started in Rosa Delgado's kitchen in Austin, Texas in 2019. She'd been roasting her own beans for years — a habit she inherited from her father in Oaxaca, who roasted coffee over an open fire every Sunday morning. The smell of it became the smell of home. Of safety. Of family.
When her son Marcus came home from college complaining that no coffee hit like grandpa's, Rosa decided it was time to share it with the world.
Marcus quit his marketing job. His sister Camila, who was studying design in Brooklyn, came home to build the brand. Their dad, Eddie, converted the garage into a roastery — setting up the equipment between a lawn mower and a broken dryer. And Grindz Coffee was born — right there on Maple Street, in the house Rosa has lived in for 22 years.
We officially launched in January 2025. We sold out of our first 50 bags in 6 hours. Rosa cried. Eddie said "I told you so." Marcus called Camila from the parking lot of a UPS store, screaming. That was the moment we knew this was real.
